  • He was Archbishop of Canterbury from 1533.
  • he switched from being a Catholic to a Protestant.
  • He helped shape the Church of England under Edward VI.
  • He was responsible for the issue of prayer books in 1549 and 1552.
  • He supported Lady Jane Grey when she became queen for nine days in 1553.
  • He was arrested by Mary I and executed by being burned at the stake in 1556.
