- Queen of England for just nine days
from July 10th to 19th 1553.
- She was the great-grand-daughter of
Henry VII.
- In 1553 she married Lord Guildford
Dudley who was son of the Duke of Northumberland.
- Edward VI
had named Jane as the next queen instead of his sisters Mary
and Elizabeth.
- When Edward died Jane reluctantly accepted
the crown.
- She had the support of the people and
the Lord Mayor of London.
- She was arrested by supporters of Mary
and quickly executed on Tower Green in 1554.
