  • An English Protestant bishop.
  • He was made chaplain to Henry VIII in 1541.
  • He became Bishop of London in 1550.
  • He took part in the reformation of the Catholic Church.
  • Ridley supported Lady Jane Grey when she became queen for nine days.
  • When Mary I came to the throne he was arrested.
  • He was burned at the stake in 1555.
