  • 4th Earl of Bothwell, Duke Of Orkney And Shetland
  • Hepburn was a Scottish nobleman.
  • He was the third husband of Mary Stuart (Mary Queen of Scots).
  • He is believed to have been responsible for the explosion that killed Darnley, Mary's previous husband in 1567.
  • He was tried for the assassination but found not guilty.
  • He helped Mary escape from where she was imprisoned
  • Hepburn married Mary Stuart in 1567.
  • In 1570 Mary divorced him.
  • He was put in prison in a castle in Holland where he died insane.
