- Hepburn was a Scottish nobleman.
- He was the third husband of Mary
Stuart (Mary Queen of Scots).
- He is believed to have been responsible
for the explosion that killed Darnley,
Mary's previous husband in 1567.
- He was tried for the assassination
but found not guilty.
- He helped Mary escape from where she
was imprisoned
- Hepburn married Mary
Stuart in 1567.
- In 1570 Mary divorced him.
- He was put in prison in a castle in
Holland where he died insane.
