- Darnley was the second husband of Mary
Stuart (Mary Queen of Scots).
- He was father of James VI of Scotland
who became James I of England.
- Darnley is believed to have had Mary's
secretary Rizzio murdered by
his friends.
- In 1565 he was knighted and became
Sir Henry Stuart. He was made Earl of Ross and Duke of Albany.
- In 1567 Darnley was murdered.
