Notes
|
- Latimer was the man who reformed the
English Christian Church and became a bishop.
- In 1524 he stopped being a Catholic
and became a Protestant.
- He was put in prison several times
but was protected by Cardinal Wolsy
and Henry VIII.
- He became Bishop of Worcester in 1535
but left this position in 1539.
- During the reign of Edward
VI he wanted life to be fairer for ordinary people.
- In 1553 he was arrested on the orders
of Mary I.
- Along with 270 other priests he was
executed in 1555.
- He was burned at the stake in Oxford.
