- The Tudors built many thousands of
new homes.
- They were built with timber frames
that were fixed together by wooden pegs. The spaces were filled
with clay or bricks.
- Burghley House in Northamptionshire
is a typical Tudor House built on the grand design! It was built
for William Cecil in 1589.
- Tudor houses were more comfortable
than previous houses.
- Tudor houses had chimneys instead of
holes in the roof to let the smoke out. This made the rooms warmer,
less smoky and stopped the thatched roof from catching fire.
- You can spot a Tudor house from the
wooden frames like the one in the picture above.
