  • Marlow was a poet and a playwright.
  • He was born in Canterbury and went to Cambridge University.
  • It is thought he was a government agent (a secret agent).
  • He was involved in the death of a man but was cleared of a charge of murder.
  • He wrote 'Tamburlaine' written in 1857 and 'Doctor Faustus' written in 1594.
  • Marlowe was a very clever writer, his plays have a lot of emotion.
  • He was a rival of William Shakespeare.
  • He was killed in a tavern brawl at the age of 29.
  • It is possible he was killed because he was an agent!
