- English politician and writer.
- He studied Greek, Latin French, theology
and music at Oxford University.
- he studied law at Lincoln's Inn, London.
- He was made speaker of the House of
Commons in 1523.
- He was knighted in 1521 as Sir Thomas
More.
- In 1509 he was made an adviser to Henry
VIII.
- He was favoured by henry and became
Lord Chancellor in 1529.
- When Henry
VIII wanted to break from the Pope and the Church in Rome
he resigned.
- He would not agree to accepting Henry
VIII as head of the church in 1534.
- He was imprisoned in the Tower of London
for a year and was then executed.
